GKL Group operates an extensive plant fleet and our experienced team are able to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

With our 30T dumptrucks complemented by 46T mass excavators and GPS machine guided bulldozers we are confident and capable of undertaking the largest of bulk earthworks projects.

In our role as principal contractor for the main infrastructure works to the Hampton Southern Township, Peterborough, we have completed a number of large scale bulk earthworks operations in recontouring the former brickworks site into a platform for development.

One such operation involved the movement of circa 2,000,000m³ of material from Hampton West to raise the development platform on Hampton East. To facilitate the movement of this material we were required to cross the A15 London Road, a very busy artery into the south of Peterborough. To achieve the works within the timescales required by the client, and with as little impact onto the existing road network as required by the local city council we installed a purpose built tunnel underneath the carriageway for the sole use of our earthworks operation. By working together with the client, designers and local authorities we were able to come up with the tunnel solution that ensured that all of the recontouring operations were completed to budget and within the necessary time constraints.
