Greenwich Peninsula Redevelopment
Demolition, remediation, bulk earthworks, primary road infrastructure

Scope of Works
As part of one of the UK’s largest regeneration schemes, the former Gasworks on the Greenwich Peninsula covers an area of 150 acres which is
to be developed into a new community of office space, housing and schools.
Phase 1 of the redevelopment was for the construction of a new head office block for Transport for London as well as additional office space for long term leases.

With focus on main infrastructure, GKL had responsibility for delivering a range of new primary infrastructure solutions and existing road improvements that will support the further development of Greenwich Village.
Amongst other tasks, GKL undertook the excavation and replacement of 20,000m3 of material (much of which was hazardous contaminated materials due to the sites former use) in an environment where disruption had to be minimised.
In addition to earthworks operations GKL also undertook the installation of both foul and surface water drainage systems and installation of all necessary infrastructure for all major utilities.
