On the site of the former Wheatsheaf Pub, GKL are transforming the site into a specialist housing complex.

The completed scheme will house 16 one-bedroom units, including 12 apartments and 4 bungalows.

The accommodation has been designed to be adaptable to people with a range of disabilities, and has been built to allow the installation of hoists and other care equipment.

GKL started work in September 2025, after the derelict pub was demolished in August. GKL have been the primary contractor throughout the works, showcasing our ability to manage complete housing schemes.

With the site directly on a main road, as well as a school and bus stop in close proximity, this project is a shining example of our ability to work within the public eye. This meant GKL went above and beyond with both their site and public safety as well as security.
